So I am really glad that the season has changed. I was really tired of my old blog header. I didn't really love it. I like this new heading much better.
I haven't been blogging for awhile because I have been really busy with work. We have a new math program that is heavy into algebraic thinking. It isn't difficult for me to do, but I have never taught this type of math before so it is difficult to know how to teach it. What I think is easy to understand, is brand new to the kids and they often just don't get it. As the kids learn this program through the years it will be easier to for us to teach, but this year it's a little overwhelming. It is a challenge, but I'm up for it, and so is my class.
I don't know what it is about this time of year, but I keep getting sick. Maybe it is because all of the germs are now free to be shared at school. Whatever the reason once again my family is once again sick. It all started with Marie. She went to bed Sunday night feeling fine. Two hours later she started throwing up and she continued to throw up every twenty minutes until 5:00 in the morning. She didn't have anything in her stomach to throw up after awhile, but she kept trying. Next was Jordan's turn, he felt sick, but never threw up, thank heavens. Then it was Valeries turn. She started out by fainting. She had gotten up to use the bathroom and was standing by the sink when I heard a crash. I went to see if everything was okay. She told me she thought she had fainted. I tried to help her to the couch and she did it again. I yelled to Dale for help, as he was coming in, she came to and then did it one more time. After letting her rest for a little while, we helped her to the couch and she didn't faint anymore, but she started throwing up through the night. I took Valerie to the doctor later and she had a EKG done on her heart. Everything was normal with her heart. Dr. Rose said she is just a fainter and that she will probably grow out of it by the time she is 16, but to keep an eye on her especially when she isn't feeling well, and to drink a quart of water more every day and increase her salt intake, to help increase her blood supply. During all of this, I got sick too, thankfully I didn't get sick to my stomach I just caught a cold, but this always leads to me loosing my voice. I taught my class with no voice for the past two days. I have a microphone that I use during this time. The kids think it's pretty cool. I tell them it's my alter ego - that I have always wanted to be a rock singer. This way I at least get to use the microphone. I am hoping I have my voice back by Monday. It still remains to be seen. Finally, Jordan had his wisdom teeth out on Friday. He looks like a chipmunk, but he is doing really well. Dale wanted to video him being silly after the procedure, but Jordan was determined to be in control. He didn't say anything funny. Jordan just isn't any fun. Why can't we ever tease him? The good part is that he doesn't seem to be in too much pain either, in which I am grateful for. Dale, as usual never got sick. He has too good of an immune system. It just isnt' fair. After this past week, I am really glad that things are settling down now. We should all be back to normal soon.

I am glad you are all feeling better so you could watch my kiddos!!! ;)
I'm so glad you're feeling better. I've been sick too, it must be in the air or something!! I can't believe Val is such a fainter, that's awesome (in a weird way)! I mean, it's bad, but funny. Martin never gets sick either, I hate that!!!
