I wanted to blog last week, but we went to Mom's for dinner, and I didn't have time during the week. It was Dale's 43rd birthday. We didn't have any specific plans until the evening came upon us. Dale decided it would be fun to go to Fat Cats and go bowling and eat pizza. Jessica was home for spring break and she was able to be there with us. It has been a long time since any of us have been bowling. Let's just say it's a good thing someone invented bumpers. They were used regularly at least for the first half of the game. I must say right here for the record I didn't need the bumpers, but I was also loosing the game. Maybe I should have tried using them more. The pizza came with breadsticks and two flavors of soda. The breadsticks were yummy! I thought the pizza was okay, but the kids loved it, so what do I know. It was edible. It was cute watching Marie bowl. She would run up to the line quickly, stop, and then throw the ball down the lane. Sometimes it would go straight down the line. Other times it would bounce from bumper to bumper on the way down. The other kids were pretty funny to watch too. Jessica would smile and say, "Thank heavens for bumpers." Jordan was taking everything pretty seriously, the way Jordan always does, and Valerie would act embarassed, but then she started getting silly. Our lane had some strange problems, some of the pins would fall down before we would bowl, and then they wouldn't get counted. Jessica got three strikes in a row (without the bumpers even), but they weren't counted right so she didn't get credit for them. Jordan got two in a row, and they went down most of the time on Dale (The pins just didn't like him). Needless to say, our scores were not accurate in the end. We figured Jess one with a turkey and all, Jordan probably came in second, but after that it didn't matter anyway. (Yes, I lost). We were had a great time.
We came home and opened Dale's presents and ate "chocolate ecstasy" cake and ice cream. It was a terrific way to celebrate Dale's birthday.

This was so much fun! I absolutely loved every moment of that night. :) And yes, it's true, I got three strikes in a row...too bad that will probably never happen again...haha
It looks like you had loads of fun! Everyone is smiling at least, that's a plus. We love to bowl but haven't gone in long time. It's getting so hard to find open lanes. Happy Birthday Dale. I still can't believe you're 43!!!!!!
